At 18 years old, and not turning 19 until mid-March, Sebastian Walcott is one of the youngest top prospects in the game and is one of the more exciting all-around talents in minor league baseball. The Rangers number one prospect is the fifth highest ranked shortstop prospect among exclusive shortstops. While Walcott is mainly a shortstop right now, his power profile and 70 grade arm could land him over at third base long term where he played 20 games in 2024. In 2023 at the age of 17, Walcott advanced as high as High-A Hub City but struggled. He turned it around in 2024 and earned a promotion to Double-A Frisco by the end of the season. Walcott has 65 grade power but has yet to really tap into it. If he can make enough contact, which stands out as his major weakness at this point in his career, the ceiling will be very high for Walcott. On top of the power, Walcott should be a perennial 20+ stolen base threat through the minors and into the big leagues.
