Roman Anthony, my number one prospect and number one for many baseball fans, was drafted by the Red Sox in the second round of the 2022 draft out Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida. Anthony turns just 21 in May, but has proven his maturity in the minors where he has dominated across all levels. As one of the most well-rounded bats in minor league baseball, Anthony has no problem getting on base or hitting for power. Since his promotion to high-A Greenville in 2023, he hasn’t had a stop in pro ball where he posted an OBP lower than .350 or a SLG lower than .450. He also stole 20+ bags for the first time in his pro career in 2024, which leads most to believe he can be a legitimate 30 home run/20 stolen base threat at the big league level. His glove is solid in center field but may be destined for a corner outfield role in the future. He still will likely be a plus defender wherever he may land.
