Max Clark was probably the most hyped up high school draft prospect since Jackson Holliday in 2022, and he has really proven himself since entering Detroit’s system in 2023. Clark is one of the most well-rounded players in minor league baseball as he is a game changer on both sides of the ball. While his bat still has some untapped potential, it’s his elite speed and defense that will carry him through the ranks. He should be a perennial 30 SB threat when he starts playing 130 to 140 games a season, and is one of the rangiest center fielders in the game. On top of the speed, he has one of the strongest arms from center, only adding to his defensive profile. Offensively, he has gotten on base at a solid clip, posting a .374 OBP in his minor league career. He has yet to really reach his power potential as he needs to get the ball in the air more, but he projects to potentially be a 20 HR hitter at the big league level if he continues to grow into his frame.
