Kristian Campbell was the highest riser on many prospect boards in 2024 as he tore up every level he played at. He opened the season at High-A Greenville after logging a 152 wRC+ over 84 plate appearances in 2023 following the draft. His most impressive stretch was during his time at Double-A Portland where he posted a slash line of .362/.463/.582 along with a 197 wRC+ over 255 plate appearances. All four of those numbers were the best in Double-A among hitters with at least 200 plate appearances. He’s a complete hitter in the box as he hits to all fields, shows some pop, and is very disciplined. He can also be a game changer on the base paths, which is highlighted by his 24 stolen bases in 2024. Defensively, he’s similar to Mookie Betts - very versatile but not elite at any single position. He spent the majority of his time in the infield in 2024, playing 34 games at both second base and shortstop. If he continues to play at a high level at Triple-A Worcester, you should see him at Fenway Park very soon. That is if he doesn’t force Boston’s hand at spring training and breaks camp with the team.
