Jett Williams is coming off of a down year that was riddled with injury, but I wouldn’t be so quick to write off the 21 year old utility man. In 2023, Williams’s first full season in pro-ball, he advanced as high as Double-A Binghamton at just the age of 19. Across three levels that year, he posted an impressive .263/.425/.451 slash line with 13 home runs and 45 stolen bases. While he stands in at just 5’6” Jett’s solid swing decisions and plate discipline allows him to access more power than his size would lead you to believe he has. While he strikes out a little more than league average, he also draws a lot of walks which causes a lot of problems for opposing defenses because of his speed. Speaking of defense, the 50 next to his fielding grade is to be taken with a grain of salt because he has yet to find his defensive home. Because of his quickness, it’s very likely he ends up somewhere up the middle, whether it be at center field, shortstop, or second base.
