Jeferson Quero comes in ranked as the lone Milwaukee Brewer on my top 50 and is the sixth ranked catching prospect. Quero missed the entirety of the 2024 season due to a torn labrum in his throwing arm, but is looking to pick right back up where he left off in 2025. Quero’s injury came in his first game at Triple-A Nashville, which leads me to believe he will open there in 2025. Since entering Milwaukee’s system as an international free agent at the age of 18 in 2021, Quero has posted a slash line of .278/.350/.445, good for a .795 OPS and a 115 wRC+. Paired with his elite glove behind the plate, Quero could be an all-star catcher at some point. Quero won a Minor League Gold Glove in 2023 and likely could have debuted in Milwaukee in 2024 had it not been for the injury. He is currently blocked by the very best catcher in the game, William Contreras, so it’s likely the Brewers take their time with Quero in 2025, and promote him as a backup catcher when needed.
