Jackson Jobe, the third overall pick in the 2021 draft out of Heritage Hall High School in Oklahoma, is widely regarded as the top pitching prospect in baseball right now. That will change shortly as he’s likely to join the Tigers starting rotation out of camp and graduate from prospect status. While his 2024 minor league numbers are shown above, Jobe did get a quick taste of big league action in four relief appearances - two of which came in the postseason. Jobe has what is probably the most effective arsenal among pitching prospects due to its depth. He has a deadly fastball-slider combo along with the 60-grade changeup and cutter. As long as he can command the offerings effectively, there’s no reason he shouldn’t be on his way to becoming a front line starter. Jobe threw the bulk of his innings in 2024 at Double-A Erie where his 1.95 ERA ranked fourth and his .162 BAA ranked second.
