Ty Peeples came into the 2025 spring season as the consensus top player in the state of Georgia, and he certainly has hung around in the conversation in what has become a pretty deep class. The Georgia Bulldog commit has had a pretty steady rise to the top of his class over his high school career.
Peeples is a very projectable athlete and scouts seem to think he’s going to grow into a lot of power. He features a fairly strong build and is expected to add more size. While Peeples mans center field, the expectation is that he’s going to lose some athleticism as he grows into more of a corner outfield profile. Scouts aren’t typically high on his glove, but should be able to stick around as an average corner outfielder, especially given his skills at the plate.
Peeple’s deploys a very mature approach at the plate. His patience is highlighted by his Georgia state record in career walks. He sets himself up well to do damage in the zone, although there has been some swing and miss concerns. His swing is arguably the highlight of his profile as the swing has been regarded as one of the best left handed swings in the high School draft class. He has present above-average bat speed and power which he should tap into a lot more as he grows and works through the whiff issues. The projection is a power over hit corner outfield bat, but the plate discipline and patience should at least give the hit tool a higher floor.
He has drawn a lot of comparisons to Christian Yelich due to the pretty left handed stroke, but the overall profile reminds me a lot more of Evan Carter.
