Dalton Rushing is the lone Los Angeles Dodger on my top 50, and is one of the catchers closest to earning a spot on a big league roster. There’s a chance Rushing can come out of big league camp as the Dodgers back up catcher, and if not, his versatility elsewhere will surely get him a chance at the big league level when the roster is inevitably hit with injury. Rushing made a pretty steady climb through L.A.’s system in 2024, starting out at High-A Great Lakes, and advancing as high as Triple-A Oklahoma City. In his 169 plate appearances at Oklahoma City, Rushing hit nine home runs to the tune of a .511 SLG and a .907 OPS. Rushing didn’t become a full-time catcher until he reached professional ball, but has naturally adapted to the position through his athleticism and strong arm. He has also gotten a lot of reps in the outfield where he can play at an average level.
