It might be egregious to say, but Chase Dollander might be the best pitcher in the entire Colordao Rockies organization, if not, the most talented. When I watch Dollander pitch, it’s hard for me not to see some Gerrit Cole in him. He’s got a similar easy, repeatable delivery with a power fastball and solid breaking stuff. Dollander was the third highest ranked draft prospect in the 2023 MLB Draft, and has kept pace with the two arms taken before him - Paul Skenes and Rhett Lowder. Despite entering Colorado’s system in 2023, Dollander didn’t make his pro debut until 2024 where he opened in High-A Spokane. At both of his stops in 2024, he had a sub-3 ERA. The Coors effect looms for Dollander whenever he is to make his big league debut, but his ability to miss bats and barrels leads a lot of fans to believe he might find a lot more success in Colorado than pitchers that have gone before him. He has front of the rotation type of stuff and very well may be the Rockies ace soon.
