Don’t let his numbers in pro ball fool you. Charlie Condon, the third overall pick in the 2024 draft was often regarded as one of the best college hitters professional scouts had ever seen. Condon tied the D-1 college single season home run record with 37 round-trippers due to his elite raw power and ability to consistently make hard contact while lifting the ball. He did struggle in his pro debut, but I don’t put too much stock into post-draft numbers considering college guys are thrown in front of pro pitching following a grind of a college season. I usually wait for players to go through a full offseason with time to adjust before putting any kind of stock into minor league performance. While he is a big, imposing figure, Condon can move well and got experience at all three outfield positions as well as third base at Georgia. It’s more than likely he ends up in a corner outfield spot given the power profile and strong arm. The thought of Condon joining the Rockies at some point and launching home runs at Coors Field is fun to imagine, so hopefully he can pick up some momentum in 2025.
