Brandon Sproat comes in as the Mets top ranked prospect and my 9th highest ranked pitching prospect. After getting drafted in 2023, the 2024 season was Sproat’s first taste or pro-ball. He got started right away at High-A Brooklyn and advanced as high as Triple-A Syracuse. Sproat struggled in his seven starts at Triple-A, but across 17 appearances at High-A and Double-A, he posted a 2.05 ERA over 87.2 innings. Despite a 7.53 ERA at Triple-A, Sproat managed to rank second among Mets minor league pitchers with at least 100 innings in ERA, fifth in FIP, first in WHIP, and third in K-BB%. Sproat has two 60 grade offerings - a 97 mph fastball and a changeup with nearly 15 inches of arm-side run. His slider is a plus pitch as well while his curveball can improve with more usage. At 24 years old, the thought is that Sproat can be in a Mets uniform somewhere in the middle of the season.
